Tuesday Morning at Barista's

Image
This morning we went to Barista's for coffee again and were not disappointed:

ABC Wednesday: K

Image
This week I am submitting a photo of my Kitchen Knives for ABC Wednesday.

You can find my previous ABC Wednesday entries here.

Photo Challenge: Tickle Me Pink

Image
Time for another challenge at Project 64: Out of the Box.  Each week a random crayon is chosen from a 64 count box of Crayola Crayons.  That color is used as inspiration for the week, the challenge is to find and photograph the weekly color in the world around us. This week the color is Tickle Me Pink.

We have 2 girls who LOVE the color pink and this color is all over my house.  My entry for Tickle Me Pink is a photo of the rug in Big Girl's room.

Photographic Scavenger Hunt

Image
It's scavenger hunt time again at Ramblings and Photos.   Each week 5 items are listed and participants photograph their interpretations of the items. The items this week are Decay, Groups of 3, Kitchen, Things That Make You Go Hmmm, and Me Time.

Here are my items:
Decay I saw this trailer on my way to get the kids from school but did not have time to photograph it.  An hour later I drove by again and decided to stop and take pictures but it was gone! Someone actually managed to pull this onto a busy street and move it down a block and behind a different building!

Things That Make You Go Hmmm My husband's remote (and no, that did not fix the problem)

Me Time Bring on the caffeine!

Rainy Day

Image
Wow, today was a VERY rainy day!
These photos were taken on Marsh Creek Road near Clayton, CA.
This slide happened moments before I got there,
cars on the other side had just made their way though the maze of boulders.  There were many other, smaller rock slides on my drive as well. By the time I made my way home the road had been cleared.
YES, I was stopped when I took these photos with my cell phone!

These pictures were taken on Olivera Road in Concord, in the Pixiland parking lot. These cars look like they are going very fast, but they are actually going pretty slow.

Poppies

Image
Poppies are starting to bloom, one of my favorite flowers. These are California Poppies, pretty soon they will be everywhere!

Straight out of Camera (SOOC) Sunday Challenge

Image
I am adding these pictures to the SOOC Challenge (straight out of camera) at Murrieta 365. My breakfast:  assorted berries and vanilla yogurt.

Photo Challenge: Scarlet

Image
Time for another challenge at Project 64: Out of the Box.  Each week a random crayon is chosen from a 64 count box of Crayola Crayons.  That color is used as inspiration for the week, the challenge is to find and photograph the weekly color in the world around us.  This week the color is scarlet.  To me, scarlet is a bright red but the Crayola crayon is more of a orangy-coral red. I had a hard time capturing this color....until I put my crayon down next to the fruit basket and noticed that this apple matched it perfectly.

Edited to add:  This is a Jonagold apple:  http://www.produceoasis.com/Items_folder/Fruits/Jonagold.html

Saturday's Brunch: Pancakes

Image
This morning we had pancakes for brunch.  I topped mine with vanilla yogurt, fresh raspberries, and fresh blueberries.

Mellow Yellow Monday: Golf

This is my sons golf bag, taken with my 55mm lens on Saturday when we went to the driving range.

Watery Wednesday: California Happy Cows Go Swimming

Image
These California Happy Cows were enjoying the afternoon like any California girl would:  taking a dip and lounging in the sun.

I am linking these photos to Watery Wednesday.

Thai Beef Rolls and Mojitos

Image
I made Thai Beef Rolls from my Cooking Light Annual Recipes 2007 cookbook.  These were very good and would be great as a no-cook meal in the summer or packed in a cooler for a picnic.  There was no cooking involved but there was a lot of chopping and prepping.  The adults in the family also had yummy and refreshing Mojitos!

Little Girl in the Morning

Image
This morning I was able to get some shots of Little Girl and all of her pinkness.  These were all shot with my 55mm lens at f/1.8.

Barista's in the Morning

Image
This morning my husband and I had a few kid-free hours and ran some errands downtown.  We decided to stop for a coffee at the cutest coffee shop, Barista's.  Although we had heard great things about it we had never been there before.  It was wonderful!  Delicious latte!  Latte art!  Real mugs!  With cool designs!  Pastries!  Antique Gaggia machine!  We will definitely go again, soon.

I finished mine too soon, it was so good! I should have savored it a bit longer!
